Can you put used chip pan oil in thr composter?

No. Fats and oils don't break down in the compost very well and will also attract rats and other vermin.

Our local tip has a container for used oil,I keep an old bottle and take when its full with other larger items that won't fit in the bins..I hated pouring it down the sink.This has to be better for councils than having to filter it out of sewerage waste.

I agree Aster though I don't think our council has that facility - mind you I wouldn't know, I never fry chips!
