I have a Ueno Yama which I kept in a small pot until planting it out this spring. As it appeared to be dying, I transferred it to a pot on the patio. I fear I am losing it as the leaves are going very brown. Any thoughts, please?

Acers like a spot in partial shade and sheltered from strong winds. The plant would need copious watering througout summer (as much as when it was in a pot). It sounds like it didn't enjoy the situation that it was in. Move the pot to a shady position and keep the soil moist. Cross your fingers!
