I have 3 small fir trees which make up a short hedge in my front garden. They have been there for about 8 years. However, the middle one is looking very brown and looks as if it is dying. What can I do?

If the needles have already turned brown, you can't do anything - they will never regenerate, so even new growth will only be at the tips of the branches.
