In the part of North Essex where I live, there appear to be no acorns at all this year although there are very many galls (oak apples). Is this a general phenomenon and, if so, does anyone know why?

Answers

the oak trees at work don't seem to be reduce in acorns this year. but they are wind pollinated so perhaps the weather at flowering time affect pollination for your area.
