Pumpkin plant - my youngest is growing a pumpkin plant, and wants to grow a really big pumpkin! The plant is huge and spreading, with a lot of tiny pumpkins beginning to swell - should we take most of them off to get 1 or 2 big pumpkins? It's in a big pot on the deck, shuld we put it on the ground? Lastly, should we feed it - something like tomato feed? Thanks

I think that you are on the right track, I havn't grown pumpkins but have grown cues and courgettes and it makes sense to grow 2 just in case of accidents

Thanks Pamg, that's very helpful - and do you think it's ok in the pot, or better in the ground?

I don't really know enough to say, it depends on your soil they are rich feeders, I think in this instant i'd 'google it, i just put 'grow a giant pumpkin into google and got lots of hints and tips, you could also try putting this on a blog and we could watch it grow :0)
