Does the white stuff look like fluffy bits stuck on? This is woolly aphid, a sort of greenfly in a sweater! Spray them off with a sharp burst of hose or spray with Provado Ultimate Bug Killer. If the white is a powdery substance on the leaves, it is mildew. Spray with a fungicide and prune to open out the centre so that air can circulate. If neither of these...report back, below!!
