I have a hornbeam hedge thats shedding its leaves,they have a bluish grey mould growing on them.could anyone please tell me what it is and how to treat it

I think the mould will be a type of mildew and this combined with the drought will most probably be causing the leaf drop. Can you soak the base of the hedge? Spraying is no longer an option as you really need to spay for prevention, not cure. A slow release feed such as Q4 around the bottom of the hedge out to the dripline would be good too.
