What is the legal height a neighbour can grow his privet hedge between our properties

Answers

Varies between local authorities, so check with your council.

...also, ours said that it will cost £500 per household affected to register a complaint about a high hedge (so there's no justice there then!!), best plan is to stay friendly with the neighbour. And cheaper to pay for the hedge trimming if they won't/can't. Good luck!

Where i live everyone has a Tenants handbook.

Check with your District Council. But if you live in a council property you should have a handbook.
But like Bamboo says it varies between councils
Ive just rang one local authority up and they said it depends on where abouts you live.

Ive just googled Hertfordshire District council, and ive noticed its a split council.
So Please contact Hertfordshire District Council and get in touch with planning and ask how high the hedge is supposed to be
