I have about 100 leylandii trees which I'm thinking of selling - they are about 12-15ft each, my question is - can they be sold at this size?

They don't transplant very well - don't think you'd have much chance unless they were lifted professionally and even then....Unless they are in huge containers?

The most popularly sold Leylandii is a hedge pack of a dozen at 6ft tall. People fall out with their neighbours and they are 'we are at war do not ever speak to me or look at me again' type of plant. If you are digging up an established hedge then they are worth maybe a fiver each at most. Someone local would come at get them, so Gumtree or the like.

Pot grown, I would trim to 6-8ft and try and sell a hedge pack and you will make much more money. 2 metres is the limit tp what couriers will accept.

Hywel's comments taken in your trees are too large to sell!

And I think not to be encouraged to grow, they are not a native tree anywhere but a cross between two thats turned into a thug ( you may have gathered I don't like them :0)

It might be possible to find a farmer who wants to create a wind break over a large area of land and would take them for free, although Moon grower will probably be right.
They cost £400 each to cut down when 40 ft. high.

On the other hand if you have a chainsaw you could set up a profitable firewood business - which is the best use for leylandii that I know of.
