I have just noticed what looks like white small caterpillers on my japanese acer tree and wondered why they are on it and how do I get rid of them. We have recently planted it in the ground after in being in a large tub.

Never seen caterpillars on an Acer but this does not mean that they don't have them. Spray with soapy water or hand pick them off - if you've got chickens they will love you!
