Sounds a bit like the colouring you get from blackspot. Kathleen Harrop is a paler pink sport of Zepherine Drouhin and like that variety it is prone to both mildew and blackspot. Spray to prevent every few weeks with a suitable fungicide and feed twice a year with rose fertilizer. It's worth it for both these two roses as they smell so good (Bourbon roses).
