Help! The leaves on my acers are going brown and dry and look as though they are being eaten by a pest. I sprayed them recently with a bug gun which I hope stops the pest but the leaves are continuing to go dry and brown. I have made sure they are not scorched by sun and are not in a windy position. There is still new growth on them. Any ideas?

Are they getting enough water, is another thing to check.

Acers leaves do go brown when it is very hot.... even when in shade...I have a few here, some have browning going on at the tips of the leaves...don't worry too much about it, it is just heat in the air. It will recover. :))
