Hi, I was clearing some beds in my garden and found some strange looking roots/tubers.
I have attached a picture.
Any ideas?

I agree with monbretia. Are you planning to put it back or at least the top corm or is it a rogue left from previous clearance. I have tried to clear page area of invasive monbretia but think I will be finding babies for a few years yet.

It might be a nice cultivar rather than the bog standard montbretia though?

I agree MY "common" montbretia bulbs are much smaller and really spread, trying to get rid of them the leaves always seam to go brown quickly.

Many thanks to all that replied.
I shall probably replant some and pass some on.

The plant I know of which has tubers in strings like that is Crocosmia.
