My hydrangea bush has white sopts all along it's stems. It has still flowered but thye are not as big as usual. What is this & how should I treat it.

Could be hydrangea scale; if it is you need a suitable spray, but choose carefully and only spray when the sun is not on the plant, and when the plant is not in drought - hydrangeas can be sensitive to pesticides.
