Anybody able to put a name to this rose please. It was given to me as a standard. The flowers have approx. 60-70 petals, it is 2.5" across and is strong smelling. Colour tends towards magenta on the colour chart. I put it in my blog but had messages saying it was not what I thought it was. I've checked and the posts are correct. I looked on a rose finder site - it could be one of 22 possibles so I am hoping somebody recognises it and saves me hours of research.

By jove, I think you have got it! Couldn't pin it down myself but I think you are very likely right.

Thank you Keasty, I have just had a look at Ispahan and I am almost certain that is it. It is a very old rose. Ispahan is a city in Iran according to one of the websites I looked at. Do you have this rose ? If not how did you track it down so quickly. I am sitting here at the computer and almost overpowered by the rose perfume from the three roses I picked at 1am to check the colour etc. Thank you both for your help.
