Hi, a whip is a young tree, which can be grown from seed, or from cuttings, usually about 18" - 3' high, sometimes feathered, they're used mainly to plant up large areas quickly and cheaply, but if it says olive tree whip, it will be an olive tree, Derek.

Thank you so much for all replies, knowing it is what I hoped for I'd better rush back to get one before all gone! What would I do without you all. Cheers

Not sure about an olive but if you buy a Fuchsia whip its a plant that has been grown to form a standard but you have to grow on and form the standard yourself a cheep way of buying a standard but you have to do most of the work yourself just saves time growing the stem.
