Chances are that your acer will be reinfested with scale this year too so you might want to get ready and concentrate on how to control this pest once it appears to keep the infestation to a minimum for no amount of feeding is going to help. If it reappears take a few photos of it and post them here to get a proper identification of this bug. It will help greatly when GOY members give you advice for its eradication or control. You got some answers on control in your previous question but members were taking a stab at what it was. As far as feeding you received a good answer on that too in the question that you asked on Feb 24.
