There appears to be a oily black substance coming from our 30 year old english oak tree and dropping on the plants beneath. Any ideas if this is a disease/bug/virus. If so what can I do about it?There does not appear to be anything similar affecting other oak trees in the surrounding area. Thank you in anticipation!!

I think you should get in touch with DEFRA straight away.

Is it possible to put on a photo please. Can you see if there is any damage to the tree such as a branch which is cracked.
