I have a patio magnolia which is planted on my back garden. Although it had lots of buds on last year it never flowered. I would like to replant it into a large tub is now a good time to do so or will l kill it if l move it

It is more likely to do well in the ground. How big is it and how long has it been in the garden? Do you know what variety it is? Trees are better moved while dormant. You might just get away with it but it would be safer to wait until autumn. Does it have flower buds now?
If you got flower buds that turned brown instead of opening it could be because of frost, or they can rot in extended cold periods.
