I have been told to dig sand into beds for carrots - however I am going to run a 4 year crop rotation - how would the sand affect the other veg in other years? Should I dig sand in or just put the carrots in with the other roots following the potatoes

Carrot rot fly is a pest with vertigo. Any barrier a couple of feet high around your carrots will protect them as the root fly stays lower than this.

Thank you. Next year the carrots will be in the beds that have potatoes this year so hopefully nice and broken up by then and this year I will just have to do my best - thanks for all the carrot fly advice - very appreciated.
