I 'stole' some cuttings from a bottle brush (callistemon) which was growing near to where I work and one of the cuttings has what looks like dried seeds on it (I think it's where the flower has been). If I plant these seeds, will they grow or are they sterile?

Yes the seeds will grow. I did it one year and thousands came up ! I didnt grow them on obviously, and actually I knocked the container over and lost most of them.

I really don't know, but if you hope to root the cuttings, then you should remove the seeds anyway, and then you may as well sow them. Worth a try.
