The first one looks like Cornflower.

the first lookes like Centaura, [knapweed, usually blue cornflower like flowers though there are white and mauve forms too]
the second looks like a phlox to me but its seems short was it a cutting?

Think you are right with centaura sounds familiar. With regards to the second one I bought it like that. They were reduced as no plant labels. Did ask the guy but couldn't remember what he said. Think first one right. Second one haven't a clue. Hope it is what you said seaburngirl. Thank you.
