Hi
Has anyone been successful in growing a 'daphne' (sorry, proper name evades me) in a large pot?
Thanks

Thank you seaburngirl, very helpful.
I have only just seen your reply. I thought I would receive a notification to my email if someone replied, but maybe I have not set it correctly.
Thank you for the welcome, it is a great site.

« Hi I'm growing snapdragons from seed I collected last year, but I am not sure...
Daphne is the genus name so it is correct. but there are several species. do you know which one?
but in answer to your question yes I have had D mezzureum in a large pot [2ft wide stone glazed type], for 10 yrs. I then put it in the ground and it is still going 15 yrs later. it is a slow growing one [mind you most daphnes are]. I also have 2 D odorata in pots but only for the last 2 yrs in the case of one and 6 months in the case of the other.
Pot grown need to be regularly checked for water, that is the biggest challenge. The ones I have also prefer semi shade.
welcome to GoY too, hope you like the site.
