Hi all, I am thinking of buying some kniphofia tawny king 9cm pots, does anyone know if they would be likely to flower this year, thanks

Hi sbg yes from crocus, there is a 2 lt pot but I presume I may have the same with that too, plus do you think they are likely to survive winter in sunny south facing spot, thanks again :) ps I suppose I could wait to try and get some in flower but wouldn't think that many places do them :)

well the one in a 2l pot will be a mature [if that's a word] specimen and I would expect that to flower. But it will be much more expensive. depends if you can wait a year or 2 for flowers. 9cm isn't even 4 inches so it is a very small pot.

Thanks Sbg I will probably go for the bigger one I'll shop around :)

unlikely but it does depend on how big the plant is in the 9cm pot. that's not a very big and in my experience the plants they put in them don't tend to be filling the pot either. are they mail order?
