I have a Camelia bush, which budded very promisingly, but when the flowers came they more or less immediately turned from pink to brown and shrivelled, some have remained pink but not very well looking. Can anyone advise, please Royboy.

Could be frost damage, but without seeing the flowers and the state they're in, it may also be Camellia flower blight - Google it and select the RHS info page regarding this. It's notifiable if its that, the other possible cause is grey mould, which can affect the flowers in a similar way.

Given your northerly location, frost damage is the most likely cause. We're still getting chilly nights in the East Midlands, in spite of the mild day time temperatures, and I'm bringing in tender/new plants under cover three nights out of four.

This mornings the only one of the week not to be white over, freezing fog one morning....mild, windy and wet forecast here for the weekend it seems....

Frost damage, it happened to mine too, the ones in the centre were more protected, the frost can kill the buds too as if it gets the morning sun they thaw too quickly
