holly type bush, green leaves on outside but center of bush looks dead anything i can do?

Could it be a Berberis,Darwinii, ?small holly type leaves with yellow flowers on at the moment,or possibly an Osmanthus,sometimes known as false Holly..A photo would help to identify..
