Hello! I found this weird, hairy, fungus type stuff growing on the potting soil below some dahlias. It popped in less than a day because it wasn't there yesterday. Any idea what it is and what I should do? Thanks!!

« Can you identify this shrub? I found the answer. Deutzia Thanks anyway.
It's nothing to worry about, its just a form of fungus that's present in your compost - I can see a few little bits of woody stuff in it, and that's why the fungus is present, its doing its job breaking it down. It will be more noticeable when the soil is wet or damp because fungus grows faster in damp conditions. This answer assumes you do not have similar symptoms on the dahlias themselves.
