If the leaves feel soft and velvety to touch, its a Foxglove (Digitalis).

I'm still saying Tobacco, I'm pretty sure. Especially Virginia being a tobacco state.

Hi, welcome to GoY, it looks like a tobacco plant to me, but 1 that has been grown in a more shady spot than is usual, hence the wider spacing of the leaves, you'll soon know for certain if you let it flower, Derek.

It does look like actual tobacco if the colours are true, as foxgloves are a more blueish green and not quite as juicy looking. .
Anyway at the rate its growing you'll soon know if its a foxglove!
