I have seen in flower at present a plant that I know is called viburnum plicatum. It starts off looking as tho its pale yellow but over a week the flowers turn brilliant white and it flowers all at once all along its branches. It has a branch-like rather than upright habit and its defintely not marisei which is a bit petiolarus hydrangea-like in its flowers. Does anyone out there know the explicit name for this viburnum, so I can try and track it down. As I say, its flowering right now and absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for racking your brains for me!

You might be thinking of Viburnum plicatum tomentosum (previously called V. plicatum 'shasta'). Viburnum plicatum varies in growth habit - often its in horizontal tiers, some are mixed horizontal and upright, some are mostly upright.
