i want to propagate a vebascum cleopatra and read root cuttings is the best way but in march? obviously ive missed the boat?. the plant is in full flower now will it shut down growing? or will i be able to take viable cuttings in june? and get them to grow

Hi, I don't think this is a species in it's own right, so I think you may have to do root cuttings in winter to propagate it, if it was a species you could save the seed and sow from late spring to early summer, or you could divide in spring, either way, it's too late for this year, sorry, you'll have to wait for winter, Derek.

i have tried the seeds and yes your right i get an inferior phoecium type smaller runts with single spires in shades of pink that why i decided the only way of propergating was root i want lots of them as this is a colour not often seen in spring
