What is the pinkish/reddish plant in flower now on waste ground and walls in Cornwall?It looks like a wild sort of lilac!

but you know what I can not get it to grow in my garden even though it is in gardens in the village.

It is probably Red Valerian, it grows all over the West Country, wild and in gardens. I have far too much of it in my garden. There is also a white one as well.
