I have an arch formed from 2 rowan trees. It is now becoming difficult to trim, due to its height, photo attached. Seeking some advice on how to reduce the height, say to about 3 metres. This would involve pretty major cutting back, through the trunks.

Thanks for that Landgirl100. I am very reluctant to cut it right back, but if I do not do something it will be as high as my house. My idea is to reduce the height andcreform the arch with the lower branches once more. Decisions, decisions lol

« How many types of hebes are there and are there any fond of shade?
That's a very unusual and attractive feature, I've not seen rowan used like that before. I think it would be ruined by cutting back hard, a light trim would be best. Could you get someone in to do it if you can't manage it yourself? Once a year should be fine.
