My friend has grown this unusual foxglove, but could you tell us what it is called

Its not a special variety of foxglove - this one is exhibiting a condition called Peloria - not uncommon to see in the terminal flower on Foxglove. Basically, its an aberrant or mutant flower, usually caused by some aberration in the genes. Some plants have had this feature bred into them by plant breeders to make the flowers more attractive, though I'm not sure anyone's done that with Foxglove, it seems to do it all on its own when it feels like it.
