Jasmine killing bougainvillea?

Hello!
I have a gardening predicament I hope somebody will be able to help me with....
I recently planted three bougainvillea plants and a jasmine plants in two very large pots. Whilst two bougainvillea are thriving, the Bougainvillea I have potted with the jasmine is dying whilst the jasmine is also thriving. Could the jasmine be killing the Bougainvillea?
Thanks in advance!

It would have been quite useful to know which variety of Jasmine, but since most of them get absolutely enormous, I think its safe to say that it would be best if the Jasmine was potted separately from everything else. Average height and spread of Jasmine in the ground is anything up to 33 feet. The Jasmine won't be killing the Bouganvillea through any allelopathic effect - it's merely stealing all the water and nutrients, particularly if you haven't given it enough water.

How big are your pots and how regularly are you watering them?
