I agree about the slugs, there are far fewer this year, thank goodness. Still some about as we find baby ones. Snails we can do nothing about except hope for more blackbirds and thrushes. Have you got a solid stone area for them to crack the shells? If not I suggest you put down a paving stone or something similar.

We have lots of blackbirds in back gardens but not front. Snails live in the walls & go for walks up the road. Berberis is by a tree & can't be taken up. The snails are small with colourful shells but big appetites.
