Moved from Illinois to Alabama with my house plants. After I arrived I watered them & left them outside for the night. The next day the leaves had hugh spots on them. What happened?

were the plants exposed to direct sunlight through the windows as they were transported? this looks typical of severe sun heat damage. My aspidistra did this when it was left in full sun in the conservatory. I cut them off and it recovered.

To me, it looks environmental. Was there a sudden temperature change when you moved from IL to AL? That could interfere with the plants uptake of either N, Ph, or K.
