I have a lovely little plant in my garden called Lil, miss sunshine it's white (don't know the latin term) It flowers for a day then sheds every flower the next day it's full of flowers again. Just keeps repeating is this normal.

Owdboggy, thank you for your reply, but it doesn't answer my original question.

Thank you seaburn girl, I have to admit I've never seen anything like before it's both weird and wonderful at the same time. I have looked on the web the nearest thing I can come up with that looks close to it is Cistus Little Miss Sunshine 3.

Until I could work out what the shrub is/was, I could not answer your question. Sorry.

Owdboggy, no need to say sorry, I should have posted a pic with my question.

A lot better with a picture to go by! Definite look of a cistus about it. Checking it out cistus LMS has purple stems in cold winters so offers even more for your money.

yes cistus LMS (dunnecis) grows to 1m likes poor soil easy to get hold of in u.k.

A photo would help Treetop. lil miss sunshine could be a local name or a variety - if you had just said a lovely plant, I would have suggested day lily, hemerocallis.
There are a few plants whose flowers last just one day - they usually make up for this with a longer flowering season. There are others - such as California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica) - whose flowers close at night which may give the impression that they are dying off.
