I need help with my Rhododenron (Goldflimmer) bought last year. Can it be saved or is a bin job? Update I called in on Haskins Garden Centre to ask advice on plant, if there was a way of giving it another chance. I was told bring back and was given a full refund. I now have two new plants, well done Haskins.

Looks like a bin job to me... How often have you been watering the Rhodo, does the pot have drainage holes, did you stand in full sun and was the compost ericaceous?

Thank you Moon grower, plant has been watered well but has been in full sun its still in the pot we bought it in from the nursery. The blue pot dose have drainage holes. Win some loose some. Many thanks for your answer.

They're a woodland plant and like dappled shade I think

Yes they are Pamg full sun will have been too much for your Rhodo. Pollyanna. Also even though you say the pot has drainage holes you have stood it on a slab of some sort, it needed to be raised up off the ground on pot feet to allow the water to drain out the bottom. In general Rhodos. do much better in the ground than they do in pots as they need far less tlc.

Thanks for comment the pot has been on bricks, l think the sun has been too much for it .

Well the sun certainly won't have helped and if you live in a hard water area the Rhodo won't have liked that either.

Then you'll need to collect rain water to use, to be honest best not to try to grow a Rhodo where you live. There native habitat is woodland at several thousand metres with a lot of rain.

My daughter had similar problem last year, she placed it in the shade and it lost most of its leaves but surprise it has grown new leaves this year and looks as if it might be ok
Give it a go repot in ericaceous soil if you don't have spot in the garden for it. Good luck

Thank you we have given it a trim, and will give it a repot with new ericaceous soil.
