i have a plant growing in a pot and want to know what it is. It is about 2ft tall it has white trumpet like flowers. When the flower drops off and then a roundish friut grows which has soft long bits on it. As it gets older they feel more like prickles and the pod seems quite hard. The leaves are quite big and has indents the whole way round the leaf. I thought it might have been some sort of thistle. In the winter i feed the birds and I think that is where it originated from. Would much appreciate it if someone could tell me what it is.

« Quick question!! Would it be better to cut off the dead branch of this plant?...
Hard to tell without a photo. Maybe a short teazel? But I'd call the flowers mauvish rather than white, and they're not really trumpet shaped. Compare pics via Google Guest.
1/10 for trying Beattie!
