I have an amaryliss bulb that flowered just after xmas last year. Ater flowering I put it outside in a sunny spot to let the leaves feed the bulb. It looked nice and healthy so I left it intending to bring it in in about sept to die off and rest the bulb in a cool place ready to bring into flower again. However it had other ideas and is now producing a flower stem so I don't know what to do with it. Should I just enjoy now, and carry on as planned, or does this mean it will not flower again in the spring if I do not remove this stem

Balcony is the amaryllis expert - try sending him a PM.
I don't think removing the flower at this stage will make any difference to next year though.
You can't fault it for keenness can you?
