Mine are just starting to ripen, they are so much later than other years, I think the cold nights are part of the problem, in june the nights were almost down to freezing and even last week the overnight temp was 6c.....and I live in the east midlands!!
we had that couple of extremly hot days in july too 38c.....crszy weather

put a ripe banana next to one of the plants. the ripe fruit will produce a ripening gas that will help the toms to turn. then as each one ripens it produces more of the natural gas etc.

Yep as seaburngirl states but You need to get some really ripe bananas going to black and then put your unripe toms in a paper bag with the bananas..
You only really need to do this at the end of the tom season when your plants are Dying and the fruit is still green.
Its the gasses from the banana the helps to ripen the toms.

we have put the brown speckled skinned bananas into the greenhouse next to the tomato plants. and late in the season when far to cold to ripen in the greenhouse they get the paper bag treatment indoors.

High temp as well as Low temp will stop your Tomatoes ripen- temperatures between 50 and 85 degrees. I'm not sure where you are but if you live in a hot area in August that daily temps rise much higher than 85 degrees that will prevent them from turning red. When my Greenhouse gets to warm I turn on my Fan and open all vents and doors Also lack of Sun limited sun light - You don't say if your Green house is in full sun or not - Cool weather To test this, pick a few of your larger green tomatoes, place them in a brown paper bag, and store them in your home. Check every couple of days for ripeness. when you pick them, leave a bit of the stem on each one too. If they ripen this way, you may want to choose a faster ripening variety next year. I have never had a problem with the old reliable Money Maker.
