i plantes Salvia Cambridge Blue about a month ago and it was promptly eaten by something - i covered the plants with plastic bottles and they seem to have recovered. Now i'm scared to take the bottles off! Do plants reach a certain maturity where they are more resistant to attack?

sounds like they are not very big if you can cover with p.bottles,am not sure but i think i grew some salvias once and the slugs loved .them.Try a slug reppellant around them or coffee grounds or simlar,try one plant without the bottle see what happens,if it continues you might need an insecticide ,because theres a range of suspects
