My lonicera x purpusii is 2 years old and is in a very large wooden container (on earth with no bottom) and is growing up a trellis against a brick wall. With breathing space behind. It is well protected and facing South. It gets sun in the morning. I had lots of flowers this year and it has grown tremendously. Right now though, the lower leaves are turning brown and falling. Does anyone know why and what I can do about it? Will those leaves grow back? Gail

hi nd welcome to GoY.
Mine has done this too and I suspect its the fact they are the oldest leaves and it isnt getting the water it needs. It will come good next year and may releaf if it gets damper conditions.
