For those that are interested – I sent off to T & M for some winter flowering Pansy’s – they arrived 2 weeks ago – Yes they were pushed through my letter box – Yes I opened them – Yes the plugs were small (as I expected them to be). Yes the plants were small (as I expected them to be).

I removed them and re potted them (as you’re expected to do) as they are not garden ready as yet. – They have now been outside re potted and are all doing fine – healthy and green – So once again I have never had a problem with T & M plugs..

I find plant buying in the UK fascinating - pushed through your letter box? :O

That's how small the plugs T & M sends are Bathgate...

Yea, think thimble sized, Bathgate... but some people like a challenge, love to nurture the little things and bring them on and feel that paternal (its usually men who continually buy these) pride when they get larger and flower. Nowt wrong with that if its your thing I guess.

so much for instant gratification.

I expect that's achieved in other ways, Bathgate!

Don't forget they have 4 sizes of plugs you can request - even up to garden ready approx. 4" in high and well matured .. Its up to you what size you require all you have to do is tell them -- I rest my case .....

It's an expensive way of getting pansies - they'll be in garden centres soon in flower in plug trays for a fraction of the price of the T&M plugs. If you want to do all the nurturing then a packet of seeds would be as good as anything.

Lol Bamboo - can't think what you mean...

tsk tsk, now now, Steragram... I was thinking more of a big slice of cream cake... though all things are possible!

How do you know that's not what I was thinking?

What I do find interesting is the fact that you bothered to add this info in the first place, however I hope they do well for you, never had a problem myself but one can only speak for oneself, I'm curious though, (I did see the argybargy going on before about this seller) are you hoping someone will argue with you, its not a very good day and sometimes its entertaining just to browse these pages, gain some good tips and just see what is happening....

But its nice to see something positive said about them after all the negatives isn't it - maybe they are reforming?

26 Aug, 2015

Yes Stera but as I said I am only speaking for myself, have noticed over the years that they get a very negative review from some members and I always wonder if said members are speaking from recent experience or years ago, if the latter then its unfair as things can alter over time...

I don't know anything about T&M, but I read a lot of positive things about them on other sites and there's Triffidkiller above.

I do laugh when I read that name and have wondered what triffids he/she have killed ( not at the member its at my own imagination) I remember as a kid seeing the film the Day of the Triffids, it was classed as a horror movie at the time, it frightened me to death and for years I would never visit a lighthouse, had a vision of being trapped up the windy stairs with gigantic seaweed type plants coming after me, lol...

Exactly Paul, one speaks as one finds ..

I remember reading the book in the early 60s. What terrified me was the green light that turned people blind. At that time photocopiers worked by a green light moving across the screen and I found it very hard to operate the machine for a while...

How do I say thanks?
