We have a Sunflower with 6 heads coming off it... Is this normal. The main head has already flowered?

If this is a true oddity, I would save the seeds and see if it happens again next year as seed companies are always on the look out for things like that. T & M have a pamphlet on the subject.

It maybe somthing called fasciation. Normally occurs if the growing tip is damaged wehn small. Is the stem slightly flattened? If it is then you wont get the same 'effect' from saved seeds, fasciation is not genetic
