Diefinitely not a mammilaria, sorry SBG. Might well be some kind of Echinocactus, but yes, Hywel's your man.

This is Parodia magnifica. It hails from the south of Brazil. It has yellow flowers.
Keep it cool and dry in the winter, but above freezing point.
Plant it in very well drained compost.
Give it a feed in springtime.
It should flower easily in the summer.

SBG mammilarias are one of the easy ones to recognise because all the little tubercles are arranged spirally rather than straight down in columns, if you see what I mean.
Tony if your Parodia does flower please show us a photo?

possibly one of the Mammalaria type, but I'm not an expert on Cacti. a member Hywel is very knowledgeable he might be worth asking. send him a pm asking him to look at your question.
