Is it too late to plant heucheras in the garden they have been in pots all the summer

if they have been in pots check for vine weevil grubs though as they love them for lunch dinner tea etc!

No, now's a good time to plant them out, in an area which has been dug over and preferably had some garden compost or the like added. Water in well as necessary and keep them watered till end of October, if the weather is dry.
