Hi group, first question. I have 2 climbing rose bushes, at first I thought they were ramblers and the are overgrown. What would be the earliest time before Christmas for me to hard prune them. Thanks.

I'd reduce them by half but select those stems to make the frame work of the flowering structure next year. tie those in as close to horizontal and in the spring tie in the new stems as close to horizontal as possible for them to produce maximum flowers.
