Hello again,
I have just started rescuing a very old, very beautiful rambling rose from the entanglements of a honeysuckle. Now that the honeysuckle has been cleared and one or two rose suckers have been removed I am in a quandary as to how much I can prune this rose. It's an old fashioned rambler. There's now more light and air circulating around it although it is top heavy. Can it be hard-pruned? Or would I risk damaging it irreparably? You've given me some very helpful answers in the past so you're my first port for help! Thank you.
