Hi back again
I previously thought that in the garden of the house I am about to buy there was a willow tree, but shows how much I know ( don't laugh please) as just found out1 tree is a silver birch and the other a Rowan tree. Does anyone know if these types cause problems with structural damage.

we had two silver birch 20ft from the house with no damage at all. previous house had a good sized rowan 15ft and again no damage that we are aware of.
so depends on how close like mg says.

It really depends on how close they are planted to the house but neither will give you the problems a willow would. Why don't you join GoY, it is free, then you can respond to our comments, which will make it easier to help you!
